MGHers go the distance for a good cause

An MGH group of 139 runners laced up their sneakers April 18 and ran for causes close to their hearts during the 109th annual Boston Marathon.

The MassGeneral Marathon Team was started in 1998 by Howard Weinstein, MD, chief of Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology at MassGeneral Hospital for Children, after an 18-year-old patient under his care died from incurable sarcoma.
