C. Thomas Griffiths lecture
The C. Thomas Griffiths Lectureship Fund will sponsor a gynecologic oncology
lecture April 7 at 6 pm in the Ether Dome. Robert E. Bristow, MD, associate
professor and director of the Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service at Johns
Hopkins Hospital and Medical School, will present "Cytoreductive
surgery for ovarian cancer: Evolving concepts, techniques and patterns
of care." A reception will follow the presentation. For more information,

Child Abuse Prevention month
In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention month in April, the MGH Child
Protection Consultation Team will sponsor a series of activities. Surgical
grand rounds about shaken baby syndrome will be held April 5, from 7 to
8 am in the O'Keeffe Auditorium, and will be facilitated by Alice Newton,
MD, of the Child Protection Consultation Team. Pediatric grand rounds
"Silent Victims: Children and Domestic Violence" will be held
April 5, from noon to 1 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium with Betsy McAllister-Groves,
LICSW, director of the Child Witness to Violence Project at Boston Medical
Center. An informational table will be available April 6, from 9 am to
3 pm in the Main Corridor. Radiology grand rounds about radiologic evaluation
of child abuse will be held April 7, from noon to 1 pm on Founders 2 with
Katherine Nimkin, MD, of MGH Radiology. For more information, contact

Menopause and your health
The MGH Women's Health Coordinating Council will host "Menopause
and Your Health" April 13, from 6 to 8:30 pm at Mass General West.

Sexual Assault Awareness month
Joining together to raise awareness of Sexual Assault Awareness month
in April, MGH Police and Security, the Employee Assistance Program and
HAVEN (Hospitals Helping Abuse and Violence End Now Program) will sponsor
an information table April 7, from 11 am to 2 pm in the Main Corridor.

Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Day
In recognition of Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Day, the MGH will
sponsor an information table and seminar April 25. The information table
will be located in the Main Corridor, from 8 am to 5 pm and will feature
organ donation brochures and cards, information posters and educational
material for clinicians. The seminar "The Power of Giving Life"
will be held at noon in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Organ recipients, donors
and their families, and patients on the waiting list for organs will share
their experiences.
