MGH Perioperative Nursing training program

There will be an information session about the MGH Perioperative Nursing training program March 29, from 1:30 to 5 pm in the Sweet Room, Gray-Bigelow 432. There will be opportunities to meet with Human Resources representatives and Operating Room (OR) staff and to tour the OR. This information session is for registered nurses with experience in an acute care setting. The program will begin June 2005. For more information, call Michele Andrews at (617) 724-6052.

Ethics forum
The MGH Ethics Task Force will sponsor an ethics forum "Life's End: Faith Perspectives in Caring for the Dying April 8, from noon to 1:30 pm in the Sweet Room, Gray-Bigelow 432. The interactive discussion will feature multiple panelists representing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Protestant and Catholic perspectives. Gayle Peterson, RN, staff nurse on Ellison 21 and co-chair of the Ethics in Clinical Practice Committee; Marion Parker, RN, staff nurse on Ellison 20, and Keith Perleberg, RN, nurse manager for Ellison 20 and 21, will moderate the forum. OB/GYN patient safety program
The MGH Vincent Obstetrics and Gynecology Service will sponsor a program "Patient Safety and Advances in Obstetrics and Gynecology" April 2, from 7:30 am to 2 pm. The program will feature keynote speaker Lieutenant General Kevin Kiley, MD, the U.S. Army Surgeon General. The panel discussion will include topics about prenatal diagnosis, female pelvic malignancy and infertility. To register, send e-mail to smcgrail@partners.org .

Allied Health Technologist job fair
MGH Human Resources will sponsor the Allied Health and Technologist job fair April 2, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Yawkey Center, second floor. Treatment of eating disorders symposium
The Neuroendocrine Unit and the Harvard Eating Disorders Center of the MGH will sponsor a symposium "Multidisciplinary Treatment of Eating Disorders in Adolescents and Adults" April 11, from 9 am to 12:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Leadership Academy course
The MGH Leadership Academy will offer a course about strategic leadership April 13, from 1 to 2:30 pm at the Training and Workforce Development Office at 100 Charles River Plaza. The course will cover proven leadership styles, strategies and

Cardiovascular program
The MGH Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) will sponsor a cardiovascular program "Islet-1 cardiac progenitors in development and disease" April 11, from 4 to 5 pm at Brigham and Women's Hospital. MGHC dinner
MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHC) invites MGHers to attend a dinner for the Baby John Fund of Lexington April 7, from 6:30 to 10:30 pm at the Museum of Science. The event will feature a buffet dinner and live and silent auctions. Tickets are $100 per person. The Baby John Fund has been assisting families at MGHC by providing meals, lodging, parking, gas cards, MBTA passes and telephone cards.
