Senior HealthWISE seminar
MGH Senior HealthWISE will sponsor "Cataracts: Current Treatment
and Technology" March 22, from 11 am to noon in the Walcott Conference
Rooms. Nicolleta Flynn-Thompson, of Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston,
will discuss what a cataract is, when surgery is necessary and what to
know after surgery. This event, for seniors 60 years and older, is free

Mood and Anxiety Disorders seminars
The Mood and Anxiety Disorders Institute Resource Center and Schizophrenia
Program at the MGH Department of Psychiatry will sponsor the second annual
spring seminar series on mental health and wellness. The seminars will
be held Thursday evenings March 17 through May 5 in the O'Keeffe Auditorium.
Registration begins at 6:30 pm and the seminars run from 7 to 8 pm. The
series is intended for people affected by any of the major psychiatric
illnesses and their family, friends and caregivers. The seminars are free

EAP seminars
The MGH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will sponsor "Come Get
the Skinny on Popular Diets" March 17, from noon to 1 pm in the Wellman
Conference Room. Suzanne Landry, RD, MS, of MGH Ambulatory Nutritional
Services, will review the pros and cons of popular diets.
The EAP also will host an eldercare discussion group March 15, from noon
to 1 pm in the Trustees Conference Room. Barbara Moscowitz, LICSW, an
MGH geriatric social worker, will discuss care coordination, legal, estate
and medical issues, and caring for oneself while caring for an elder.
This group also will meet April 12 and May 10. For more information about

Pamela J. Ellis nominations now being accepted
Nominations now are being accepted for the 2005 Pamela J. Ellis Memorial
Secretarial Award. All clerical support staff are eligible, and any employee
may provide a nomination. Nomination forms are available online at http//is.partners.org/hr/New_web/mgh/Pamelajellis2005.htm
or can be picked up at MGH Human Resources offices at the following locations:
Employee Access Center, Clinics 117; White 14; 75 Blossom Court; CNY Building
149, seventh floor; and MGH Chelsea, Charlestown, Back Bay and Revere
health centers. The
nomination forms may be delivered in person or through interoffice mail
to the Employee Access Center, Clinics 117, or sent by e-mail to
ibridge@partners.org. All nominations are due March 17 by 3 pm.
Compassionate Caregiver Award
Nominations for the seventh annual Compassionate Caregiver Award now are
being accepted. The Compassionate Caregiver Award, established by the
Kenneth B. Schwartz Center in 1999, honors a Massachusetts caregiver who
displays extraordinary compassion in caring for patients. Any professional
caregiver or team of caregivers working directly with patients in Massachusetts
may be nominated. The deadline for nominations is April 15. The winner
and finalists will be recognized at the Schwartz Center's annual dinner

Technologist and Allied Health Job Fair
The MGH will host a Technologist and Allied Health Job Fair April 2, from
10 am to 2 pm at the Yawkey Center, second floor. Information forpharmacists,
pharmacy technicians, radiation therapists, as well as technologists in
3D imaging, mammography, nuclear medicine and more will be available.
Attend special presentations about "PET CT," from 11 am to noon,
"Basic Cardiac CT for Technologists," from noon to 1 pm and
