EAP seminar
The Employee Assistance
Program (EAP) will sponsor "Come Get the Skinny on Popular Diets"
March 17, from noon to 1 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Suzanne Landry,
MS, RD, of the MGH Ambulatory Nutritional Services, will review the pros

Talamo lectureship
MassGeneral Hospital for Children will sponsor the 15th Richard C. Talamo
Lectureship April 28 at 5 pm in the Meltzer Auditorium at the Massachusetts
Eye and Ear Infirmary. Guest speakers will include Robert Langer, ScD,
of MIT, and George Q. Daley, MD, PhD, associate professor of Biological
Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School. A reception

Boston Stroke Society
The Boston Stroke Society will sponsor a mini-symposium "The Venous
System and Brain Ischemia," March 16 at 7:20 pm in the Wellman Conference
Room. Kai Frerichs, MD, of MGH Neurosurgery, will be the moderator. Featured
speakers will include Ferdinando S. Buonano, MD, of MGH Neurology; and
Paul H. Chapman, MD, and Christopher S. Ogilvy, MD, both of MGH Neurosurgery.
Dinner is $20
for staff, $10 for residents and fellows at 6:30 pm. Reservations must

National Patient Safety Awareness Week
In recognition of National Patient Safety Awareness Week March 6 through
12, the MGH will host an information table March 9 from 11 am to 1 pm
in the Main Corridor. A short video will be presented. For more information,

CRP seminar
The Partners Human Research Quality Improvement (QI) Program will sponsor
a Clinical
Research Program (CRP) seminar series "QI Program's Top 10 List
Corrective and Preventive Actions" March 9, from noon to 1
pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Delia Wolf, MD, director of the Partners
QI Program, will present the top 10 violations the QI staff identified
during their on-site evaluation and
consultation. This lecture qualifies for 1.2 contact hours for registered

Nursing career expo
MGH Patient Care Services Human Resources will host a Nursing Career Expo
March 13, from noon to 3 pm in the North and East Garden Dining Rooms.
This is intended for those interested in learning about and interviewing
for staff nurse (new graduate and experienced), clinical nurse specialist

The Partners' Signature Initiative Team #2 invites MGH employees to participate
in a name and logo contest for the new Partners patient safety newsletter.
The quarterly newsletter will be distributed to all department heads for
