While the groundhog was searching for his shadow Feb. 2, 20 students from
East Boston High School (EBHS), MGH's high school education partner, "shadowed"
MGHers during Groundhog Job Shadow Day. Job shadowing provides students
with an opportunity to learn about the world of work and see that the
workplace is an extension of the classroom.
Students spent a part of the day observing, asking questions and assisting
their shadow host, wherever app ropriate,
while gaining a first-hand look at the dynamic world of health care. In
this process, students learned what skills and education are needed to
pursue these jobs, as well as advice about how to achieve their dream
