Full
house at the Yawkey Center
The
Yawkey Center
for Outpatient Care welcomed some new additions this week with the
successful move of several departments and the opening of the Riverside
Café. In phase two of the relocation plan, 500 staff members from
the MGH Vincent Reproductive Medicine and In
Vitro Fertilization Units and the Cancer
Center — including Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and the Infusion
Unit — made a seamless transition to the Yawkey Center during the
weekend of Jan. 15. On Jan. 18, approximately 750 patients were seen on
the first day of operations for floors seven through 10. Above,
the Yawkey Center's Riverside Café
Riverside Café, the newest MGH cafeteria, opened Jan. 18 in the
Yawkey Center. Tucked into a bright, sunny nook in the lobby, the cafe
includes approximately two dozen tables decorated with hand painted tiles
depicting the Charles River and topped with fresh flowers. The menu consists
of such standard fare as a variety of grilled cheese and other sandwiches,
soup, personalized and specialty pizzas, salads, fruits and specials of
the day. Cookies, brownies, lemon squares and slices of cake complete
the menu.
