Departments relocate to Yawkey Center in phase two

The Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care officially opened its doors to patients and staff last October, offering the state-of-the-art care that has come to be expected from the MGH. By Jan. 18, other outpatient programs will make the move to the Yawkey Center in phase two of the relocation plans.

During the weekend of Jan. 15, the MGH Cancer Center — including Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and the Infusion Unit — will move its outpatient activities to the new center. Radiation Oncology and the Bone Marrow Transplant Program will stay in their present locations. Also relocating will be the MGH Vincent Reproductive Medicine and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Units.

Yawkey Center employees, patients and visitors will be treated to the services of the new Riverside Cafe, which opens Jan. 18. And Yawkey Center conference rooms on floors 2, 4, 7 and 10 will be available for bookings beginning the first week of February.

The Yawkey Center already houses the outpatient services of Radiology, the Cardiology Division, MGH Orthopaedics, Child Psychiatry, Women's Health Associates, MGH Vincent Obstetrics and Gynecology Service and MassGeneral Hospital for Children.

In addition, the MGH Healing Garden, to be located on the eighth floor rooftop of the Yawkey Center, will open in the spring. The healing garden is a 6,300-square-foot sanctuary that will provide a comforting, meditative, inspirational retreat for patients and their families.
