Boston Design Center raises $11,000 for MGH breast cancer services

The Boston Design Center one of New England's premier home furnishing centers hosted an open house Sept. 12 and raised $11,000 to support the MGH's breast cancer services.

As more than 1,200 guests toured the center's showrooms, they had the opportunity to learn about the MGH's breast cancer services through brochures and posters and watch a video presentation about breast self-examination. Visitors also viewed the Wall of Hope, an inspirational pictorial exhibit describing experiences of MGH cancer survivors.

"The staff at the Boston Design Center truly have put their hearts into this generous donation, devoting both their time and enthusiasm to help MGH breast cancer services and promote awareness about breast cancer," says Carol Ishkanian, director of MGH Development.

For information about the MGH's breast cancer services, call the Gillette Center for Women's Cancers at the MGH at 4-4800
