Partners telephone directory adds new paging features
New paging features will be added Oct. 5 to the Partners Telephone Directory, which is accessible on all Partners workstations. New search criteria will make it possible to look up a name by entering a Partners pager ID number into the name search field.
More information – such as paging status – will be available for each record through the detail (expanded) screen, which is accessed by selecting a name resulting from a search. By accessing their own detailed screens, employees will be able to change their own paging status codes and retrieve and print messages.
In addition, shortcut keys will make paging functions easier to perform. Once a name or page number is entered into the search field, the following codes can be used:

  • /D (type slash key, "D") display record in the detail screen format
  • /P initiate a page for the displayed record
  • /E go to edit mode for the displayed record
  • /C change status for the displayed record
  • /R retrieve message for a record

The edit, change, and retrieve functions can only be used on an employee's own record.
For more information, call Marie Doolan in Telecommunications at 4-5058.
