History Month highlights of accomplished MGH women Since the first patients were cared for at the
MGH in 1821, women including nurses, social workers, therapists, volunteers and
eventually physicians and researchers have played an important role at the
hospital.
Family walk honors
mother and supports cancer research Last June, the children of Helen Romaine
an MGH patient who died of lung cancer in 1997 organized a walk in her memory and
raised $7,000 for MGH lung cancer research.
MGHers get
inspiration from a champion Olympic gold medalist and world-famous
runner Joan Benoit Samuelson paid a visit to the MGH March 8 to help encourage members of
the MGH Marathon Team preparing to run in the Boston Marathon next month.
A week about and
for kids Children will flock to the MGH HealthCare
Everywhere Fair March 18 to have fun as they learn about health and safety.
