What's Happening Cardiac Catheterization lab open house
All are welcome to tour the new Knight Center for Intraventional Cardiovascular Therapy,
located on Blake 9 at its open house Feb. 23, 3 to 7 pm. Light refreshments will be
served. The Knight Catheterization Lab currently located on Gray 1 will move to the new

Ash Wednesday services
The MGH Chaplaincy will offer the following services in observance of Ash Wednesday Feb.
17 in the MGH Chapel: Roman Catholic Mass, 11 am and 4 pm; ecumenical prayer service,
12:15 pm; and Episcopalian Mass, 1 pm. Distribution of ashes will take place from 9 am to
5 pm, in the MGH Chapel and on patient care units; noon to 2 pm, CNY Building 149; and 1
pm, 11th floor, Patient Lounge, Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary. All chapel services will be

Home buying seminar
For those buying a condo or house for the first time, the Employee Assistance Program
(EAP) will sponsor a seminar entitled "Home Buying Be an Informed
Customer" Feb. 18, noon to 1 pm, in the Wellman Conference Room. The next in the
EAPs Work/Life seminar series, the presentation will feature guest speaker Peter
Buchanan, chief lending officer at the Harvard Credit Union, who will discuss the
financial aspects of the purchasing process, including the steps necessary to secure a

Schwartz Center Rounds
All MGH caregivers are invited to the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center Rounds Feb. 26, noon to 1
pm, in the Walcott Conference Rooms. The topic of this months rounds is "Cancer
Care in the Elderly: Assumptions and Challenges." Lunch will be served starting at

Biostatistics for clinical investigators
The Clinical Research Program, the General Clinical Research Center and the Center for
Clinical Nutrition are sponsoring "Seminars in Biostatistics for Clinical
Investigators" March 4, 11, 18, and 25, 4 to 5 pm, in the Walcott Conference Rooms.
This course is designed for investigators at the fellow and faculty level with minimal
statistical experience. Recommended readings will be assigned from the textbook Basic
and Clinical Biostatistics, which is on reserve at the Treadwell Library. To

Eating disorders forum
The Harvard Eating Disorders Center will sponsor a free public forum entitled
"Culture, the Media and Eating Disorders: The Challenge of Promoting
Self-Acceptance," Feb. 23, 7 pm, Askwith Lecture Hall, Harvard Graduate School of
Education, 6 Appian Way, Cambridge. Taking place during National Eating Disorders
Awareness Week, the forum will feature renown guest speakers, including Jean Kilbourne,
EdD, creator of the films "Slim Hopes" and "Still Killing Us Softly."
There will be a panel of MGH clinical experts, including David Herzog, MD, director of the
MGH Eating Disorders Unit and president and founder of the Harvard Eating Disorders
Center. Judy Foreman, a health columnist for the Boston Globe, will moderate. For

IHP diversity lecture
The MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP) will host "Health Diversity in the
Home," a presentation discussing the issues caregivers face providing home care, Feb.
