MGHer wins Young Investigator Award

Thomas Buck, MD, of the MGH Cardiac Unit, won first prize in the Young Investigator Award competition at the recent Scientific Sessions of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) in New Orleans. Buck won the award for his work in perfecting a breakthrough cardiac ultrasound technique for measuring valvular regurgitation. His supervisor, Robert Levine, MD, also of the Cardiac Unit, has served as mentor to other Young Investigator Award winners of the ACC and American Heart Association, including current and former MGHers Yutaka Otsuji, MD; Randall Grimes, MD; Dan Gilon, MD; and Noah Liel Cohen, MD. This research was supported by MGH benefactor Bernard Adams.
