  • MGHers celebrate holidays around the world
    It has become one of the most anticipated holiday celebrations to be held at the MGH. All the planning and coordination that took place months in advance were evident the morning of Dec. 11, as members of the MGH Patient Care Services (PCS) Diversity Steering Committee busily prepared each of the nine table displays for the annual "Holidays around the World" celebration in the Main Corridor.
  • Construction workers build happy holidays for Proton Therapy Center
    The Walsh Brothers construction workers have been hard at work on the new Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, scheduled to open in the fall of 2004. In their spare time, they have been equally busy raising funds approximately $12,000 this holiday season to provide an entertainment center for pediatric patients being treated at the MGH's Northeast Proton Therapy Center (NPTC).
  • A time of reflection: An MGHer thanks generous staff
    Below is a letter from an MGH employee who wanted to recognize the hard work and dedication of several MGH employees and departments that coordinated their efforts to make the holidays a wonderful time of year for children from the YouthCare program (formerly known as Camp Bunker Hill).
  • Giving the gift of life for the holidays
    While many holiday shoppers frantically search for the perfect gift to give this holiday season, the MGH Blood Donor Center suggests giving one of the most precious gifts of all the gift of life. A single blood donation can be used to help several patients who may be battling life-threatening illnesses or injuries.
  • Deck the Halls with boughs of holly ... carefully
    The holidays can be a joyous time to celebrate with family and friends. Unfortunately, it also is a time of increased risk for burns and house fires. As stockings are hung by the chimney with care, fabulous feasts are prepared, lights are hung and trees are adorned, specialists in the MGH Burn Center have a few tips to help everyone stay safe this holiday season.
  • MGH health centers celebrate health information website
    During the past three years, more than 1,000 Chelsea, Revere, Charlestown and Everett residents have learned about ARCH an MGH internet website designed to help people access accurate, reliable health information without having to wade through thousands of pages of information.
  • Music man spreads holiday cheer
    The Healing Arts Team brought in a special guest Dec. 12 to make the holidays brighter for patients from MassGeneral Hospital for Children. Vic Lalli, known as "Mister Vic," presented an interactive holiday musical performance in the Ellison 17 playroom.
