MGH raises awareness about domestic violence

The hospital's Domestic Violence Working Group recognized Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October with a four-part speaker series. The series began with "Stalking in the Workplace" Oct. 9 in the Walcott Conference Rooms. Guest speaker Lt. Jon Tiplady (right) of the Danvers Police Department spoke about why people stalk, traits of a stalker, what constitutes workplace stalking and how victims and coworkers can cope with a stalker. "One of the best things a victim can do is trust their instincts and listen to that gut feeling. If a situation does not feel right, it probably isn't," said Tiplady.
Other Domestic Violence Awareness Month topics included "Domestic Violence in the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Communities," "Helping Men Father After Renouncing Violence" and "Creativity and Healing."
