• Partners physicians and hospitals withdraw participation in Tufts Health Plan
  After months of negotiations, Partners HealthCare physicians and hospitals announced Monday that they plan to discontinue participation in the Tufts insurance plan as of April 1, 2001.

• Schwartz Center celebration
  With harmonica and guitar in hand, folksinger and storyteller Arlo Guthrie entertained more than 1,000 supporters of the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center at its fifth annual dinner Oct. 18 at Boston's Westin Hotel.

• MGH Chaplaincy celebrates Pastoral Care Week
  The MGH Chaplaincy Department celebrated National Pastoral Care Week Oct. 18 with a special service and musical performances by Ben Youngman and Urban Myth.

• MGH recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month
  The MGH Department of Police and Security, in coordination with the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), is proud to announce the "Call to Protect" program, which provides the use of donated cellular phones and service to members of the MGH community who are survivors of abusive or controlling relationships.

• It's just a pinch
  As in past years, flu vaccine will be available to MGH employees and volunteers in the Main Corridor from Nov. 1 through 8, 7 am to 5 pm.

• United Way helps MGH assist families in need
  The MGH kicked off the United Way campaign this week with the slogan "No Gift Too Small – Are You In?" All MGH employees and staff members received a United Way pledge card with their paychecks Oct. 26.

• MGHers support Making Strides
  MGHers were out in full force Oct. 15 to participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
