The importance of MGH case managers

The important role of the case manager in patient care was celebrated at the MGH during National Case Management Week Oct. 7 to 15 with a series of events. Casemanagers were on hand at a seasonally festive information table in the Main Corridor (at right) Oct. 8 and 10 to provide information and answer questions. Staff celebrated the work of the department with a luncheon at the Holiday Inn Oct 8 and a fun-filled variety show with a "Saturday Night Live" TV show theme Oct. 9 in the O'Keeffe Auditorium.

"Principles of Case Management - It Takes a Village" was presented at Nursing grand rounds Oct. 10, featuring an overview of the MGH case management model. Rounding out the series of events Oct. 15 was a presentation by nationally recognized lecturer, author and health care management consultant Louis Feuer, MSW.
