MGH employees perform Good Samaritan act

Lunchtime is a daily routine break for most MGH employees. For Shana Bryant (far right) and Cynthia Meglio, RN, both of the MGH Electrophysiology Lab in the Cardiology Division, lunch was anything but routine when it turned into a heroic act Sept. 9. As Bryant and Meglio set out to pick up lunch at Finagle a Bagel, a woman collapsed directly in front of them. Meglio, with the help of Godtfred Holmvang, MD, of MGH Cardiology, began administering CPR, while Bryant ran inside to get help. The hospital's code team arrived and transported the woman to the MGH Emergency Department. Thanks to Bryant, Meglio and Holmvang, the woman was successfully resuscitated.
