  • "Now more than ever" – 2002 United Way campaign kicks off
    Oct. 7 marks the kick-off of the 2002 United Way campaign at the MGH. This year's campaign will feature the slogan "Now more than ever: Give to the United Way." The goal of the campaign is to raise $255,000, a 10 percent increase over last year's results. The campaign also will focus on increasing the percentage of MGH employees who donate to the United Way.
  • A new lease on life: MGH patient saved by artificial liver machine
    Four days before he was to celebrate his 49th birthday, Kevin Fitzmaurice was brought to the MGH Emergency Department with acute liver failure. Usually patients with this condition have few options for survival except liver transplantation, but receiving an organ can take weeks if an organ becomes available at all.
  • A fun fiesta: MGH celebrates Latino Heritage Month
    The MGH Multicultural Affairs Office honored Latino Heritage Month at a special celebration Sept. 25, featuring speakers from the Latino community and a vibrant mixture of food, fun and music under the Bulfinch Tent.
  • MGH website sports a new look
    In an effort to raise awareness about the new look and features of the MGH website, the Marketing Department hosted Web Day 2002 Sept. 26.
  • MGHers display their talent at POPPS Fair
    This year's annual MGH amateur photography contest resulted in winners of four categories people, landscape, animal and miscellaneous. The winning photos were displayed at the Police and Security, Outside Services, Photography and Parking (POPPS) Fair Sept. 26.
