MGH wage and salary program announced

The MGH this week announced the fiscal year 2005 wage and salary program effective Sept. 26 that includes a performance-based increase ranging up to 4 percent. This year's General Hospital program is funded at 3 percent. Those who are above the maximum of their pay range are eligible for a bonus of up to 3 percent.

The Massachusetts General Physicians Organization is using a similar approach. Practices will make decisions about increases based on their financial ability to participate in this program.

In a letter distributed Sept. 30, Peter L. Slavin, MD, president of the MGH, commended employees for their hard work and dedication, despite the continued cost pressures the MGH and other hospitals have experienced. "I am confident the MGH is prepared to meet any challenge because of the great people who work here. I am continually impressed by your extraordinary effort and commitment to deliver the best care and services."

Employees and staff who have questions about the wage and salary program are encouraged to speak to their supervisors.
