First Public Leaders Day

More than 20 Massachusetts state legislators and senior officials had the opportunity to participate in the hospital's first-ever Public Leaders Day educational forum, "Exploring the Brain," held Sept. 23. Hosted by the MGH, the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization and members of the Massachusetts House and Senate, public leaders heard presentations about numerous aspects of research and treatments for a number of brain diseases and disorders, including mental illness, stroke, neurodegenerative diseases and brain tumors. Some of the attendees (shown above) toured the operating room suites to observe the hospital's neurosurgery operating room in action.
