Run of Hope

Roberta "Bobbi" Gibb, the first woman ever to run the legendary Boston Marathon, is joining forces with the MGH and Four Seasons Hotel Boston to launch the Four Seasons "Run of Hope," a 5k run along the Charles River.

The run is a tribute to the late Terry Fox, a Canadian who, in his own fight against cancer, set out to run across Canada in an effort to create awareness and raise money to fund cancer research worldwide. Each Four Seasons Hotel around the world sponsors an annual run for cancer research. Money raised from the Boston Run of Hope will fund pediatric cancer research at the MGH.

The run will be held Sept. 27 at 10 am along the Charles River. A registration fee of $20 for adults, $10 for children and $40 for families will go to the fund.

MGHers who are interested in participating can find registration forms at the MGH Cancer Center website at www2.massgeneral.org/cancer or by calling Beth Homicki at (617) 726-6298.
