Christine McNeil of MGH Outpatient Registration, was the lucky raffle winner of a hand-made quilt, which was created at a quilt-a-thon sponsored by Friends Fighting Breast Cancer and the chain of Fabric Place stores. The raffle was held by Friends Fighting Breast Cancer, a nonprofit organization created by Janet Connolly O'Neill and Fran Gilardi to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer treatment and research. The proceeds of the raffle will benefit breast cancer research at the MGH.

McNeil, who has entered the raffle drawing every year for three years, eagerly awaited the drawing Sept. 2. "I can't believe I finally won," she exclaimed after her name was announced.

Friends Fighting Breast Cancer will host its fourth annual gala dinner and dance Oct. 9 at the Copley Marriott Hotel. Tickets are $60 each. For more information, call O'Neill at (978) 664-5027.
