CNY blood drive
MGH employees working at CNY are invited to participate in a blood drive
Sept. 15, from 8:30 am to 2 pm. All donors will receive a t-shirt. The
MGH Bloodmobile will be located at 149 Thirteenth St., on the garage side

Jewish holiday schedule
The MGH Chaplaincy staff has released the fall Jewish holiday schedule.
Services will be held at 2 pm Sept. 15, 24, 29 and Oct. 6. Light refreshments
will be served at the conclusion of each service. For more information,

Ethics seminar
The Ethics in Clinical Practice Committee and the MGH Center for Professional
Development will present "De-Coding Professional Ethics: How Does
Your Code Guide Your Practice?" Sept. 29, from 8:30 am to noon in
the Haber Conference Room. This program will provide an overview of codes
of ethics from specific health care disciplines. Presenters include Christine
Mitchell, RN, MS, director of Ethics at Children's Hospital, Marilyn McMahon,
JD, of the MGH Office of the General Counsel, and Regina Holdstock, RPh,
BCPS, BCOP, of the MGH Pharmacy. Seating is limited to 45 participants.

5K road race
The fourth annual OCEAN 5K road race and fun walk to benefit the Ovarian
Cancer Education Awareness Network at the MGH will take place Sept. 19
at 11 am at Hazelwood Park in New Bedford. OCEAN is a group of survivors,
caregivers, friends and health care professionals committed to promoting
awareness of ovarian cancer and raising funds for research. For more information,

Stoeckle Center seminar
The John D. Stoeckle Center for Primary Care Innovation will host a seminar
"Winners and Losers Redux: What are the Legal Issues in Evidence-Based
Medicine?" Sept. 24, from 7:30 to 9 am in the Walcott Conference
Rooms. Guest speakers include Michael J. Barry, MD, medical director of
the Stoeckle Center and chief of the MGH General Medicine Unit, and Benjamin
W. Moulton, MPH, executive director of the American Society of Law, Medicine
and Ethics. CME credits will be available. Videoconferencing and breakfast

Women's HIV/AIDS clinic to open
A new HIV/AIDS women's clinic at the MGH will open Sept. 13 on Founders
8. The clinic will focus on the specific needs of women living with HIV
and AIDS and will offer walk-in services for gynecology exams and treatment,
STD treatment and referrals, medication education and adherence motivation,
comprehensive HIV care and bilingual providers. The clinic also will offer
psychosocial services in benefits counseling, case management, group counseling,
substance abuse treatment, crisis intervention and on-site child care.
Walk-in hours are Mondays, from 1 to 6 pm. For more information, call
