What's Happening
Sept. 11 memorial service
A memorial service will be held Sept. 11, from 11:30 am to noon in the
O'Keeffe Auditorium to recognize the one-year anniversary of the tragic
terrorist attacks. Patients, families and employees are invited to attend
the service, which will include participants from a variety of religious

Recruitment seminar
The Clinical
Research Program will offer a seminar that will discuss subject recruitment
tips and techniques. The program will be presented by Marsha Tennis, RN,
of the MGH Neurology Department, Sept. 11, from 11:45 am to 1 pm in the
Wellman 101 Conference Room. This lecture qualifies for 1.2 contact hours
for registered nurses. Lunch will be provided. For more information or

Depression seminar
The MGH Family Resource Center and the Mood Anxiety Disorder Institute
will hold a lecture on treatments for depression, Sept. 18, from 5 to
8 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. For more information, contact Stephanie

Reproductive medicine workshop
The MGH
Vincent Center for Reproductive Medicine and IVF will hold its second
meeting of a four-part workshop "Pyschospiritual Healing of Infertility,"
Sept. 11, from 5:15 to 7 pm on Vincent 210. The workshop is an introduction
to energy healing techniques that can activate the energetic psychospiritual
possibilities underlying the infertility process. The final two workshops
will be held Sept. 18 and 25. For more information or to register, call

Treadwell Library webpage
The MGH Treadwell Library has introduced a "Hot Topics" page
to its website. The new page includes information about the West Nile
virus and hormone replacement therapy. Each topic links to relevent MGH
department websites, current information in the news and background articles.

Weight management class
MGH
Food and Nutrition Services will be offering a 10-week weight management
class, "Winning at the Losing Game." The class meets every Tuesday
from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, beginning Sept. 24, in the Food and Nutrition Services
Conference Room in the Blake basement. The class is $240 for MGH employees.

Ethics forum
An ethics forum, "Four Points to None: Current Ethical Considerations
in the Use of Restraints," will be held Sept.13, from noon to 1 pm
in the Sweet Conference Room on Bigelow 4, room 432. The forum will be
moderated by Alexandra F. M. Cist, MD, from the Ethics Task Force. For
