Ricardo Diaz Award ceremony and presentation
All MGH employees are invited to the first Ricardo Diaz Award ceremony and presentation Sept. 10, from 1 to 2:30 pm under the Bulfinch tent. The presentation will begin at 1:15 pm at which time the winner of this new award will be announced.

Clinical Research Program seminar series
The MGH Clinical Research Program (CRP) and the Partners Human Research Committee are co-sponsoring a presentation addressing "Adverse Event Reporting" Sept. 10, from 11:45 am to 1 pm in the Wellman 101 Conference Room. This presentation will focus on the Partners Adverse Event Reporting Guidelines. Staff involved in any type of human research are encouraged to attend. To register, call the CRP at (617) 726-1669.

Nursing career expo
MGH Patient Care Services will hold a Nursing Career Expo Sept. 14, from noon to 4 pm in the North and East Garden Dining Rooms. The Center for Clinical and Professional Development also will present two one-hour continuing education sessions for participants in the Haber Room. The first session "Delirium: Assessment and Management in the Acute Care Setting" will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. The second session, "Sustaining Personal Resiliency in Clinical Practice," will take place from 2 to 3 pm. For more information, call Sarah Welch at (617) 726-5593.

Day of remembrance
The MGH Chaplaincy is sponsoring a day of prayer, music and reflection Sept. 11, from 7 am to 6 pm in the MGH Chapel. Chaplains will be available throughout the day. All are welcome to come and go. EAP seminar
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will begin its fall/winter lunchtime seminar series with "College Selection: A Family Affair" Sept. 12, from noon to 1 pm in the Walcott Conference Rooms. The seminar will help parents to be knowledgeable consumers and useful advocates as their children move to the next step in their education. For more information, call the EAP at (617) 726-6976.

Senior HealthWISE seminar
The MGH Senior HealthWISE education seminar program will offer "Community Resources: Where to Go and Whom to Ask" Sept. 15, from 4 to 5 pm in the East Garden Dining Room. Ruth Grabel of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Elder Health Programs, will provide information about state programs for seniors. For more information, call (617) 724-6756.

Women in science lecture
In commemoration of Women in Medicine Month, the MGH Office for Women's Careers (OWC) is sponsoring "Women in Science: Shattering the Glass Ceiling" Sept. 15, from noon to 1:30 pm in the Ether Dome. Elga Wasserman, MD, a scientist, lawyer and author, will discuss possible causes for the imbalance of women at the senior level and suggest steps that institutions can take to remove these barriers. Spanish for Health Care
MGH Training and Workforce Development will hold registration for fall classes of Spanish for Health Care, Sept. 10, 11 and 12. Registration at MGH Chelsea will be held Sept. 10, from 3:30 to 5 pm in the third floor conference room. Registration at the main campus will be held Sept. 11 and 12 in the lobby of the East Garden Room from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm both days. The course fee of $50 for the 10-week course must be paid by check or money order at the time of registration.
