Radiology hosts open house for
new MRI scanners The Radiology Department hosted an open house Aug. 11
for MGHers to view the two new MRI scanners, temporarily located on the first floor of
Founders House. The new scanners have tripled the capacity for MRI services at the
hospital, allowing for quicker scheduling of MRI exams for inpatients and outpatients.
Treatment for ADHD may reduce
substance abuse risk Boys with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (AHDH)
who are treated with medications usually stimulant drugs like Ritalin are one-third
as likely to develop substance abuse or dependence as are boys with ADHD who receive no
treatment, according to an MGH study.
Radiation Oncology Unit

MGHers reminded to wear
ID badges Nearly every MGHer likely has been asked at some
point: "Excuse me, do you work here?" To help patients and visitors identify
employees, MGHers should wear their ID badges at all times.

returns to the MGH The MGH is reintroducing its "FYI"
campaign to help keep MGH staff and employees apprised of important information related to
working within the hospital community.

Services celebrated the graduation of the 1999 class of dietetic interns at a special
ceremony and reception Aug. 12.
