Patient confidentiality is the subject of the most recent FYI poster that is being distributed in the hospital this week. The poster is meant to remind MGHers that it is the responsibility of all employees and staff to protect patient information in all forms – written documents, conversations, computer information and any other electronic forms such as faxes, e-mails or pager messages.

In addition to the posters, an FYI paper is being distributed hospitalwide this week giving guidelines to help employees keep patient information safe. The FYI paper about patient confidentiality – along with past issues of the FYI papers – can be accessed online by visiting the MGH web site at http://is.partners.org/mghfyi/fyi.htm.

The FYI posters and papers are a part of the FYI campaign to help inform MGHers about important information related to their roles and responsibilities within the MGH community.
