Ausiello named
to Academy of Arts and Sciences
Dennis Ausiello, MD, physician-in-chief of the MGH, recently was elected
to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Ausiello was among the 187
fellows and 29 foreign honorary members recognized for their contributions
to sciences, scholarship, public affairs and the arts.
The Academy has two main functions: to elect to membership men and women
of exceptional achievement, and to conduct a varied program of projects
and studies responsive to the needs and problems of society. New fellows
and foreign honorary members are nominated and elected by current members
of the Academy in five categories: mathematics and physics; biological
sciences; social sciences; humanities and arts; and public affairs and
business.
Ausiello will be formally inducted into the Academy at the House of the
Academy in Cambridge, Mass. in October.
