  • One patient's legacy: A new MGH president
Louis Tokson was a wise and respected leader, a pillar of his community in turn-of-the-century Malden, Mass. A freak accident left a chip of wood embedded in Tokson's leg, and he developed a severe infection. Each week – for nearly 10 years – Tokson would take the streetcar from Malden to the MGH. On Jan. 1, 2003, Louis Tokson's great-grandson, Peter L. Slavin, MD, MBA, will become president of the MGH.

Since the launch of the Patient Administrative Cycle Enhancements (PACE) project in February, PACE teams have been working diligently to design the framework of what will be a comprehensive redesign of the hospital's patient administration process. PACE team members recently took a break from their usual planning meetings to exercise their creativity in a half-day art workshop held July 11 at CNY.
  • Savory samplings for Senior Supper Club
