U.S. News & World Report announces "Best Hospital" list

As Hotline goes to press, the MGH has learned it again ranked third in U.S. News & World Report's annual national hospital "honor roll," with a number one ranking in the Psychiatry category for the fourth year in a row. BWH also made the list ranking eighth, while McLean Hospital ranked third in psychiatry, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital ranked 13 in rehabilitation. The "Best Hospitals" issue of U.S. News & World Report is available on newsstands July 12.

Of the nearly 200 hospitals nationwide included in the survey, the MGH ranked among the best hospitals in the following specialties:

Cancer 18 Orthopedics 3
Cardiology and heart surgery 3 Pediatrics 22
Digestive tract 4 Psychiatry 1
Geriatrics 5 Respiratory disorders 4
Gynecology 6 Rheumatology 7
Hormonal disorders 2 Urology 11
Neurology and neurosurgery 2
