MGH
United Way Campaign a success
With the recent submission of the 1999 MGH United Way Campaign executive summary to James J. Mongan, MD, president of the MGH, the campaign's results became final — and were impressive. The campaign raised nearly $160,000 thanks to the participation of employees at all levels of the MGH. In fact, the Jan. 26 issue of the Boston Globe listed the MGH as the top United Way donor hospital in Massachusetts. Patrick Jordan and Kathy Conners, both from MGH Radiology, managed this year's campaign, and Jim Richter, MD, of MGH Medicine, was the physician chairperson.
"As always, the physicians and employees of the MGH rose to the occasion and performed in an outstanding fashion," says Jordan. "Despite the many challenges we face in the practice and economics of health care, staff participation was fantastic, and our wonderful team of caregivers and support staff took the time and effort to help those less fortunate. Our success is a tribute to the extraordinary members of the MGH community." |
