GeneralHugh Auchincloss, Jr.,
MD, of MGH Transplant Surgery, received the 2001 Novartis Established
Investigator Basic Science Award from the American Society of Transplantation. He also
received the David Rumbough Award for Scientific Excellence from the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation.
Kurt J. Isselbacher, MD, director of the MGH Cancer Center, was awarded the Kober Gold Medal for outstanding contributions to academic medicine by the Association of American Physicians. Isselbacher received the award at the association's annual meeting in Chicago April 29. Sally Millar, RN, of the MGH Office for Patient Advocacy and the Blum Patient and Family Learning Center and director of Nursing Administration and Support Services, has been elected president of the Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives. John T. Potts, MD, director of MGH Research, received the 2001 Hope Award at the fourth annual Biomedical Science Careers Program (BSCP) celebration at the Park Plaza Hotel April 24. Potts was recognized for his contributions to the BSCP board and for serving as an outstanding mentor to minority undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and junior medical faculty. |
