Annual
summer picnic You're invited! James
J. Mongan, MD, president of the MGH, invites all MGH employees and volunteers
to the Annual Summer Lunch and Diversity Celebration

An
artist transcends physical barriers On June 6, a group of ALS patients showcased his talents in the art
exhibit "Transcending
Barriers to Creativity." The exhibit is a nationwide traveling
art show that arrived at the MGH June 10 and will
be on display in the Neurology clinic in WACC 835 until June 21.
Angels
Above: The MGH honors a tradition of giving MassGeneral Hospital
for Children had a special visitor June 6 when Sue Horman — as
she has for the past seven years — arrived with bundles of games
and toys, ready to be donated to young hospitalized patients. But this
time, it was the MGH's turn to give back to the woman who has dedicated
her life to bringing a little happiness to MGH pediatric patients. Horman
was presented with a plaque at a special ceremony to recognize her exceptional
generosity and years of dedicated service to the
MGH.
The
next phase of iBridge: Employee Self Service Accessing personal demographic information through Human Resources
now is at MGHers' fingertips with the roll-out of the new PeopleSoft
Human Resources (HR) Employee Self Service (ESS) program. As a part
of the PeopleSoft HR web-based applications, ESS will allow any employee
to access and change their personal information in their Human Resources
online record.
Helping
build a better tomorrow: Career opportunities do exist Despite a difficult job market that has left many workers
competing for fewer jobs, opportunities do exist for employees to advance
in their own careers. One of these opportunities is offered at the MGH
and is helping employees like Merlin Pena, who works at the MGH Chelsea
HealthCare Center.
