  • From exam room to newsroom: MGH physicians delve into journalism
    Working at a world-renowned hospital, MGH physicians are never far from the spotlight. From publishing articles in medical journals to offering news commentary, their wide range of expertise makes them frequent favorites of the media. Yet a select few MGH doctors not only attract the media they are the media.
  • Imaging technique may monitor cancer treatments
    MGH researchers have identified a special imaging technique that may allow doctors to determine whether certain experimental cancer drugs are actually working in patients. In a study published in this week's Nature Medicine, researchers for the first time used infrared fluorogenic imaging to measure the effectiveness of a class of drugs called protease inhibitors.
  • Walking in their shoes: Timilty students visit MGHers for Job Shadow Day
    MGHers find many challenges and many rewards when they come to work each day. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes can help to fully appreciate the job at hand. On May 22, a group of 26 MGH employees had the chance to see their jobs from a new perspective, as students from the James P. Timilty Middle School visited the hospital for Job Shadow Day.
  • Partners town meeting
    Samuel O. Thier, MD, president and CEO of Partners, will discuss a variety of topics related to Partners at a town meeting June 6, from 10 to 11 am in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. James J. Mongan, MD, president of the MGH, also will be on hand to answer questions.
  • Sharing the story of a culture
    Members of Patient Care Services (PCS) were entertained, educated and enthralled by a special visit May 29 from actor Tou Ger Xiong, who hails from Laos in southeastern Asia.
