MGH·Revere HealthCare Center health fair and run
MGH
·Revere HealthCare Center will sponsor its annual family run and health fair June 5 at 300 Ocean Ave., Revere Beach. The 5-mile run starts at 8:30 am, with registration beginning at 7:15 am. In addition, a 1-kilometer run for kids age 12 and under will start at 10 am. The health fair, from 10 am to 2 pm, will include a range of family activities from health screenings to safety demonstrations by the Revere Police and Fire departments, to refreshments and face painting. Parenting workshop about multicultural issues
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and the MGH Children's Center will host a workshop entitled "Raising Children in a Multicultural World" June 2, at noon, in the Trustees Room, Bulfinch Building, second floor. A parenting specialist will discuss strategies for preparing children to live in a multicultural world. For more information, call the EAP at 6-6976.

MGPO quarterly staff meeting
The next Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO) quarterly staff meeting will be June 2, 5 to 6:30 pm, in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Anne Dubitzky, MGH/MGPO vice president of Managed Care Contracting and Marketing, will present a discussion entitled "Showdown: Physicians and Payors Face Off." The meeting will include brief updates about length of stay, the hospital budget, Mass General West, the MGPO CEO search, MGPO elections, MGH physician board representatives and Partners. Ethics in Clinical Research
The Clinical Research Program (CRP) will host the third of its Ethics in Clinical Research seminar series June 10, 11:45 am to 1 pm, in the Wellman Conference Room. The topic of the seminar is "Conflict of Interest in Clinical Research." Christopher Clark, of the Partners Office of the General Counsel, will discuss the financial conflict of interest policies as they affect investigators and coordinators. The lecture qualifies for 1.2 CEU credits for registered nurses. Lunch will be served. To register, call 6-1669 by June 7.

Cardiology update for PCHI physicians
To help address the continuing medical education needs of its affiliated physicians, Partners will present "Cardiology Update for Physicians of Partners Community HealthCare, Inc." The program will be offered twice: June 17, 5:30 to 9 pm, in the dining room and Shipley Auditorium, second floor at Newton-Wellesley Hospital; and June 19, 9 am to1 pm, in the Davenport Conference Room at the North Shore Medical Center/Salem Hospital. Speakers and panelists include cardiologists from various Partners affiliates. All are welcome to attend, and registration is not necessary. Angel Fund fashion show
Saks Fifth Avenue will host a cocktail party featuring the Bill Blass Fall 1999 Collection to benefit the Angel Fund at the MGH, which supports Lou Gerhig's Disease (ALS) research. The event will be held June 23, 6 to 8 pm, Saks Fifth Avenue, upper level, Prudential Center, Boston. Tickets for the event cost $75. To purchase tickets, call (781) 279-1422.

Opioid therapy for cancer patients
Guest speaker Richard Payne, MD, director of Pain and Symptom Management, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, will present "Recent Advances in Opioid Therapy for Cancer Patients" June 10, 3 pm, in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. All are welcome to attend.
