MGH cycling team event
The MGH Missing Links Cycling Team is looking for MGHers to participate in the "MS
Great Mass Getaway Cycling Tour" to benefit the National
Multiple Sclerosis Society, June 24 and 25. The event is a 150-mile cycling tour from
Boston to Provincetown designed for cyclists of all abilities. For more information about

Support service
employees grant applications
Applications now are being accepted for the Support Service Employees Grant Program. This
competitive grant program is available to all support service employees who have worked at
the MGH for at least two years, are benefits eligible and in good standing. The Support
Service Employees Grant Program was developed to help employees further their education to
fulfill career goals while improving current job performance or advancement into other
positions. Applications are due June 30 for financial assistance for the fall 2000 and the
spring 2001 semesters. Applications may be obtained and individual questions answered June
2, 11:30 am to 1 pm, and June 8, 2:30 to 4 pm in the Claflin Library, Bulfinch 225A or by
calling Nancy Marttila at 4-3055.
Chelsea bike
safety event
The MGH
Chelsea HealthCare Center will present the annual "Safety on Wheels" event,
June 3, noon to 3 pm at the health center, 151 Everett Ave., Chelsea. Children should
bring a bicycle and helmet for a safety check. Participants are welcome to decorate
bicycles and learn about different aspects of bike safety. Bike helmets, in-line skates,
safety equipment and new bicycles will be raffled off. For more information, call

The Giovanni Armenise-Harvard Foundation will present "Cellular Aging and
Apoptosis," June 22, 11 am to 4:30 pm in the Carl W. Walter Amphitheater, Daniel C.

Revere road
race and health fair
The MGH Revere HealthCare Center presents the "Revere Moves Road Race and Health
Fair," June 10, 8:30 am on Revere Beach. Activities will include a 5K run, a 1K fun
run for children under 12 and a health fair. Information about safety and various health
topics will be available, and there will be raffles, live entertainment and activities for
children. Proceeds from the event will benefit the MGH Revere Teen Center. For more
