Boston Harbor Friendship Cruise for Breast Cancer
All are invited to join Friends Fighting for Breast Cancer's second annual Boston Harbor Friendship Cruise, June 14, from 7:30 to 11 pm to benefit breast cancer research at the MGH. Tickets are $40 per person. Contact Debbie Burke at (617) 726-6153 for more information or to purchase tickets.

Walk-In Unit relocation
The Medical Walk-In-Unit will be temporarily relocating from its current location on WACC 1 to the Pre-Admission Testing Area location on Jackson 121. The unit will be operating in Jackson 121 during the first two weekends in June while new flooring is installed on WACC 1. In addition, the Walk-In Unit will close at 5 pm, May 31 and June 7, so flooring work can begin promptly. Temporary entrance to NPTC
The existing entrance to the Northeast Proton Therapy Center (NPTC) will be closed from May 20, 2002 until September 2004 because of ongoing construction associated with the new Ambulatory Care Building. Access to the NPTC will be through a new temporary entrance on Fruit Street.

IRB seminar
The Human Research Committee or Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Clinical Research Program will sponsor "Who Tells the IRB What to do? The Effect of Regulations, Guidance and Case Law,"June 4, from 4 to 5 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. The presentation will include a brief description of the relevant laws followed by a discussion of how the interpretation and implementation of these laws have changed. MGH Backup Child Care Center Vacation Clubs Camp
The MGH Backup Child Care Center will sponsor School Age Vacation Camp for employees' children from kindergarten completion to 12 years old, from June 17 to 21; June 24 to 28; and July 1 to 5. The camps will run from 7:30 am to 6 pm each day and feature a variety of programs and activities, including excursions to the Brookline Puppet Theater, New England Sports Museum and a tour of the USS Constitution. To make reservations, call the Backup Child Care Center at (617) 724-8414. Reservations will be taken by phone, and a payment of $225 per child must be received by May 31.

MGPO seminar on neurodegenerative diseases
The Massachusetts General Physicians Organization will hold the second seminar in its series about the clinical application of advances in genetics and technology, May 28, from 5 to 6:30 pm in the Trustees Room. The seminar will focus on ALS, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. CME Category 1 credit will be offered. For more information on the series or to register, call (617) 724-8098. Because of limited space, the seminar is open only to those who pre-register.

Women's health celebration
"Celebrating Women: A Vibrant, Healthy Lifestyle" will be held May 30, from 4:30 to 8:30 pm at Chelsea High School, 299 Everett Ave. Keynote speaker is Mallika Marshall, MD, of the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center and WBZ-TV Channel 4 medical consultant, who will discuss "Women's Health and the Mind/Body Connection." The celebration also will feature free health screenings, raffles and contests. The event is sponsored by the MGH health centers. For more information, call (781) 485-6400.
