Good food, good cause For the dozens of MGHers who
participated in the MGH Blood Donor Center's Taste of the Town event
March 27, the tradeoff was a good one: they left not only with Band-Aids,
but with full stomachs too. Employees were able to enjoy mouth-watering
samples from several area restaurants — including Finagle a Bagel,
Harvard Gardens, Pizzeria Uno and Max's Deli — after donating
blood or platelets. Adding to the festive atmosphere was the promise
of an inviting prize: a $25 gift certificate to Francesco's restaurant
in the North End. An MGHer donates blood in exchange for a tasty treat. The MGH Blood Donor Center is located on Gray 1, and is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Volunteer blood and platelet donors always are needed. Donations may be made by appointment or on a walk-in basis. All employees should bring an MGH ID badge or donor card.
