Single parenting seminar
Anne Fishel, PhD, director of Adult Couples and Family Therapy for MGH Outpatient Psychiatry, will present a seminar about single parenting, April 11, from noon to 1 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. This seminar is part of the Employee Assistance Program work/life series.

Protecting the environment
MGH nurses interested in helping to protect the environment can get involved in a new nursing "green" group. The first meeting will be held April 9, at 3:45 pm, Blake 8 conference room. For more information, send e-mail to rhorr@partners.org.

Minority Cancer Awareness event
Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center will host an event recognizing National Minority Cancer Awareness Week from April 14 to 20. The event will take place April 24, from 3 to 5 pm at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, faculty lounge in the Smith Building, first floor. Speakers will include Rev. Ray Hammond, pastor of the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Boston; Thomas Farrington, author of Battling the Killer; and Bruce Chabner, MD, clinical director of the MGH Cancer Center. Family day for bipolar disorder
A family day for bipolar disorder will be held April 11, from 6 to 9 pm at the Shriners Hospital, 51 Blossom St. Lectures will cover a range of topics from an overview of bipolar disorder, managing the disorder and risks in children. The event is free of charge, but space is limited. For more information, call (617) 726-6759.

HOPES seminars
The MGH HOPES (Helping our Patients and Families through Education and Support) program will offer several classes and seminars this month. Drop-in yoga classes will be held each Thursday in April, from noon to 1 pm. Elizabeth Cook, an expressive arts therapist, will hold a class on the healing power of creative expressions April 30, from 1 to 2 pm. Steve Durant, EdD, of Psychiatry, will hold a drop-in support group for fathers dealing with cancer, April 9, from 11 am to noon. Vicki Cotton, MSW, an oncology social worker, will host a seminar called "Feeling Stressed? Some Simple Steps to Relax," April 12, from 1 to 2 pm. A support group for parents who have children with cancer will meet, April 9, from 7 to 8:15 pm in the WACC Lobby. Seminars and drop-in support groups are free, and no prior registration is required. AMMP event
The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) will host a presentation called "The Human Dynamics of Managing Change," April 11, noon to 1:30 pm, in the Trustees Room. The guest speaker will be Allison Lilly, LICSW, of the Employee Assistance Program. Lunch will be served.
