• New laser techniques to remove hair from darker skins
  An MGH dermatologist announced last week that he has been able to remove excessive hair successfully and safely from people with darker ethnic skin using new laser equipment and techniques.

• North End health center and nursing home to affiliate with the MGH
  The MGH announced March 15 an affiliation agreement with the North End Community Health Center and the North End Community Nursing Home.

• MGH Pain Pulse measures pain management
  On March 22, the annual MGH Pain Pulse survey simultaneously will measure the pain level of all inpatients and some outpatients in an effort to obtain hard data on pain and how it is managed.

• The Boston Heart Party begins annual campaign
  The MGH and other Partners affiliates are participating for the second year in the Boston Heart Party, a two-month campaign to educate women about cardiovascular disease.

• Calling all children . . . and families too
  MassGeneral Hospital for Children will celebrate Children and HealthCare Week with interactive and educational activities for children and families the week of March 20.

• Women's careers seminar
  To assist women physicians and PhDs at the MGH with improving their effectiveness as speakers, the MGH Office of Women's Careers recently offered a presentation skills seminar.
