Police and Security
lectures
MGH Police and Security,
along with the MGH Safety Department, will host lectures about suspicious
packages, suspicious substances, bomb threats and evacuation procedures
Feb. 25, from noon to 1 pm at the MGH North End Health Center; Feb. 27,
from noon to 1 pm and 1 to 2 pm at the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center;
and March 2, from 8 to 9 am at the MGH Back Bay HealthCare Center. For

Ash Wednesday services
The MGH
Chaplaincy Department will offer Ash Wednesday services Feb. 25 at
the MGH main campus, CNY, at MGH health centers and Massachusetts Eye
and Ear Infirmary (MEEI). At the MGH Chapel, Roman Catholic Mass will
be held at 11 am and 4 pm and an Ecumenical service will be held at 12:15
pm. Ashes will be distributed in the chapel between 9 am and 5 pm, and
will be delivered once to each patient floor between 8 am and 4 pm. Ashes
will be distributed at CNY Building 149, Charlestown HealthCare Center's
second floor conference room and in the Sweet Conference Room at MGH Revere,
from noon to 1 pm. MGH Chelsea will distribute ashes in the administrative
offices, fourth floor, from 8 to 9 am and 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Ashes also
will be offered from 10:30 to 11 am in the 11th floor patient lounge at
MEEI. All chapel services will be broadcast on Channel 16 on the in-house
television system.
Eating disorders public forum
As part of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, the Harvard Eating
Disorders Center at MGH will sponsor the eighth annual public forum entitled
"Image: From the Inside Looking Out," Feb. 25. The forum will
be held at the Gutman Conference Center at the Harvard Graduate School
of Education at 7:30 pm. Lisa Hughes, from WBZ-TV 4 News, will serve as
moderator. Panel participants will include singer and actress Geri Halliwell,
Miss America 2003 Erika Harold and Rebecca Knapp, MD, assistant professor
of Child and Adult Psychiatry at UMass Medical School. The forum is free

EAP training for managers and supervisors
The MGH Employee
Assistance Program (EAP) will offer a training course throughout the
year for managers and supervisors about using the EAP as a resource to
assist with behavioral health, mental health and substance abuse concerns.
The next training session will be offered March 2, from 8 to 9:30 am in
the Burr 3 Conference Room. Additional sessions will be held May 4, July
22, Sept. 7 and Nov. 2. To register, contact the EAP at (617) 726-6976.
