Amit Mehta, MD, of the MGH Radiology Residency Program, recently received the annual Joseph Whitley, MD, Award for national advances in radiology education. The award was presented by the Association of University Radiologists.

Lee H. Schwamm, MD, associate director of Acute Stroke Services at the MGH, has been named chairman of the American Stroke Association's Operation Stroke in Boston. Operation Stroke is a community-based program that helps educate the public about stroke warning signs and the need for immediate emergency treatment.

Three researchers at the MGH, Siu Sylvia Lee, PhD; Vasilis Ntziachristos, PhD; and Cindy Voisine, PhD, have been selected as Runyon-Winchell Fellows. These fellowships recognize outstanding young scientists in the field of cancer research and are awarded by the Cancer Research Fund of the Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Foundation in New York City.
