"Reconciling Lovers: An Ethical Perspective on
the Interface between Research and Clinical Care" will be offered Feb. 14, 4:30 to 6
pm in the Walcott Conference Room. A panel of speakers will present ethical perspectives
from various health care research roles. Refreshments will be provided. For more

Home financing
seminar
The Employee Assistance
Program (EAP) is offering a seminar on home financing, "Home Buying Part II:
Financing Your New Home." Bob Gray, senior mortgage originator at the Harvard
University Credit Union, will speak Feb. 8, noon to 1 pm in the Wellman Conference Room.
The presentation will cover the steps necessary to secure a mortgage and obtain
pre-qualified status. For more information, contact the EAP at 726-6976.
MGH/Timilty
Partnership events
The MGH/Timilty
Partnership invites MGH employees to participate in the Timilty Middle School's
Promising Pals program. Participants will serve as pen pals to Timilty students from
February through June. Each Promising Pal is asked to befriend a Timilty student by
exchanging letters and attending a breakfast at the school June 1. For more information or

The MGH/Timilty Partnership also is in need of
volunteer judges for the Timilty Science Fair. MGH employees are asked to volunteer their
time from 9 to 11 am, Feb. 12, 13, 14 or 15 to help students learn about science. Round
trip transportation from the MGH is available on each of these days, leaving at 8:30 am
and returning by 11:30 am. Previous teaching or scientific experience is not a

Dunham
lectures
The 2001 Dunham lectures at Harvard Medical School
will be held Feb. 12 and 13,
5 pm at the Daniel C. Tosteson Medical Education Center Amphitheater, located at 250
Longwood Ave. The guest speaker will be Professor Martin Raff of the Medical Research
Council Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology at University College in London. Raff will
discuss "Sizing and Timing in Animal Development." Each lecture will be preceded
by a reception in the Atrium. |
