AMMP honors Martin Luther King legacy

As the nation celebrated the life and legacy of civil rights pioneer Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. this week, Partners employees shared their own thoughts and feelings, both about King and about his impact on the lives of "everyday people."

The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) hosted a program of personal, musical and spiritual reflection in the East Garden Room Jan. 18. The speakers included Ronald Greene, RN, of MGH Case Management and chair of AMMP; Mary Williams, RN, of the MGH Burn Unit; Jacqueline Dejean, of MGH Radiology; Robert Hughes, MD, of the Bulfinch Medical Group; Johnnyne Sampson-Sharp, of Gray 7; Kate Treadway, MD, of MGH Internal Medicine; Carmen Vega-Barachowitz, MS, CCC-SLP, of MGH Speech and Language Pathology; Cathy Castronova, RN, of MGH Case Management; Jacqueline Gross, of MGH Nutrition and Food Services; and Jeff Davis, senior vice president for MGH Human Resources.

They discussed what King and his lessons meant to them, conveying their experiences both in words and song. The celebration concluded with a preview of one of the "Faces of MGH" murals. Developed during the past year, the three murals will be unveiled at a later date.
