New website
for Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care launched
With
the scheduled Fall 2004 opening of the new Yawkey Center for Outpatient
Care, the Yawkey Center Operations Committee this week launched a new
website for the MGH community, offering up-to-date information about the
center, its programs and services.
The website can be accessed by any computer at www2.massgeneral.org/yawkey.
The site features links to available services the center will provide,
images of the center, frequently asked questions and a virtual tour of
the new building. Interesting facts about the center abound. For example,
many people may be surprised to know that the plumbing pipes used in the
center total some 20 miles or three times the height of Mount Everest.
The Yawkey facility is needed to help accommodate the dramatically increasing
number of patients who come to the MGH for outpatient care. It will house
the Cancer Center, Cardiology, MassGeneral Hospital for Children, the
Musculoskeletal Program, Radiology and the Women's Health Program.
"We're hopeful that the website will provide a way for the MGH community
to learn more about this project and will serve as a tool to keep people
updated on all the changes that will occur as we approach the opening
of the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care," says Greg Pauly, chair
of the Yawkey Center Operations Committee.
