What's Happening Partners Physicians Day
The deadline to register for Partners
Physicians Day has been extended to Jan. 28. This program, which will
be held Feb. 12 at the Boston Marriott Copley, offers CMEs and an opportunity
to meet colleagues throughout the Partners system. For a brochure or more

Breastfeeding support
group
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
will offer "Mother to Mother: A support group for breastfeeding mothers," one
Tuesday per month beginning Jan. 25 in VBK 401, 1 to 2 pm. Other meeting dates will be
Feb. 29, March 28, April 25, June 6 and 27. The group will provide information,
encouragement and the opportunity to meet other mothers share challenges and identify
solutions. Employees on leave should feel free to bring newborns to meetings. For more

Perks update
Movie passes and other Perks program tickets are
available in the East Lobby at CNY 149, Fridays, noon to 3 pm. They are no longer
available at the CNY Human Resources office. Tickets are still available on the main
campus, weekdays, 1 to 3 pm in the Warren Library, located in the Bulfinch Basement.
Employees must present a valid employee ID to purchase tickets.
SAC meeting
The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting will
be held Feb. 2 through 4. Events will include the 24th MGH Research Symposium and Poster
Session, Feb. 2, 11:30 am to 2 pm; "Genetics and Genomics in the 21st Century,"
led by Eric Lander, PhD, director of the Whitehead Institute, Feb. 2, 4 pm in the O'Keeffe
Auditorium; and the 53rd annual meeting of the MGH Scientific Advisory Committee, Feb. 3,

Invitational
fellowships and grants
Each year more than 50 postdoctoral and faculty
fellowships and grants are available by invitation only to the Harvard Medical community.
A summary of next year's invitational fellowships and grants (the "red book")
will be available in February through HMS department heads, professors, Office of Research
Affairs, Women's Careers Offices, the Center of Excellence in Women's Health, the Dean's
Office for Faculty Development and Diversity, and the Dean's Office for Faculty Affairs.

Rounds
The 34th Kenneth B. Schwartz Rounds will be held
Jan. 28, noon to 1 pm in the Walcott Conference Room. The rounds will feature a discussion
about "Managing Cancer Pain and Substance Abuse: An Uncomfortable Dance?" All

MGHers are invited to learn about ScienceDirect, the
Treadwell Library's newest
electronic tool, Feb. 7, noon to 1:30 pm in Conference Room A, first floor, CNY.
ScienceDirect has the full text and graphics of 62 scientific journals and the abstracts
from more than a thousand other science journals. Noella Owen, trainer for Elsevier
