Usual Dosage Range and Route: |
Start AT 5 ML/hour and titrate to patient's urine output up to a maximum of 20 ml/ hour. |
Standard Concentration: |
Add Furosemide 1000mg (100ml) to Mannitol 20% 500ml Total Volume = 600 ML MICROINFUSION: Add Furosemide 100mg (10mL) to Mannitol 20% 40mL Total Volume = 50mL |
Special Considerations: |
- Monitor serum & urine electrolytes and serum osmolality as indicated - IV infusions must have a 1 micron in-line filter - In the presence of end stage renal disease mannitol may be harmful by causing an over expansion of intravascular fluid resulting in signs and symptoms of pulmonary edema and CHF. |
Precautions and Side Effects: |
