Congestive Heart Failure

Acute/Chronic Renal Failure

Administration Guidelines:
Usual Dosage Range and Route: SINGLE DOSE: 25 - 100 mg IVP OVER 5 - 10 MINUTES

RECONSTITUTE EACH 50 mg VIAL WITH 50 ml OF DEXTROSE 5% IN WATER. FINAL CONCENTRATION =1 mg / ml

24 HOUR CUMULATIVE DOSE: 400 mg

Standard Concentration: 50 mg / 50 ml
Special Considerations: - May potentiate the activity of antihypertensives, neuromuscular blocking agents, digoxin

- May increase insulin requirements in diabetic patients

- Do not use if solution is hazy

Precautions and Side Effects: - Hypovolemia

- Hypokalemia

- Hyponatremia

- Hypomagnesemia

- Transient Deafness

- Elevated Uric Acid

- Hyperglycemia
