The Clinical Research Program (CRP) is a valuable resource for the clinical research community and offers a variety of services to investigators and research study staff.

The CRP’s Clinical Research Support Office (CRSO) assists investigators with a variety of clinical research services, including identification of funding sources, biostatistical consultation, submitting applications for investigator initiated INDs, preparation of grant applications, IRB application submissions, budget development and negotiation, patient recruitment and advertising strategies, and study coordinator services.

The CRP’s Education Unit sponsors training and education programs for MGH Research Nurses, Clinical Research Coordinators, and Investigators.

These offerings include:

  • A monthly clinical research orientation class
  • One-hour seminars, (the CRP Luncheon Seminar Series), generally offered every 2nd Wednesday of the month from 12-1PM, which address current issues in clinical research.
  • Lectures and workshops on other topics of interest (e.g. Genetics research, Federal regulations governing clinical research, adverse event reporting at MGH, and how to write Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Re-certification programs such as HAZMAT shipping and Infection Control training
  • Courses designed to target young clinical investigators who need to fill specific knowledge gaps (e.g. Genetics & genomics, design & conduct of clinical trials, biostatics)
